Equipment Introduction

The HDP1100 Roll to Dynamic Folding Hardcover Binding Digital Line is an end-to-end automated solution for on-demand hardcover book production, converting a digitally printed paper roll into finished, palletized books through one integrated workflow. The HDP UW1100 Unwinder delivers the printed web steadily to the HDP SPF1100 Single Plowfolder for longitudinal folding, creasing and pre-perforation, after which the HDP CD520 Dynamic Cutter uses barcode data to perform precise variable-length cross-cutting and automatically reject setup waste. The cut sheets then enter the HDP DFU660 Dynamic Folder, which changes folding sequences automatically to produce signatures with different page counts and formats. These signatures are transferred in sequence to the HDP200 Digital Collating Feeder and then sewn by the HDP SEW Digital Sewing Machine to form durable book blocks. The integrated HDP PB7 Pro Digital Binder, operating at up to 1,800 cycles per hour, completes end-sheet feeding, hot-melt spine gluing, gauze application and back lining, with servo-controlled format changeovers completed in under one minute. After spine cooling in the Cooling Tower, each book block is trimmed on three sides by the HDP TKT Digital Three-Knife Trimmer, which uses barcode recognition for automatic job changeovers and an anti-tearing system for clean, accurate cutting. The HDP380 Digital Cover Casing-In Machine then performs rounding, backing, spine lining, head-and-tail band application, casing-in and joint pressing in a continuous process. Finished hardcover books are interleaved and stacked by the HX681 before being automatically palletized by the HXMN60 Robotic Palletizing System. Barcode-driven job control and servo-based adjustments throughout the line support automatic processing of books with varying page counts, thicknesses and trim sizes, enabling efficient “Book-of-One” hardcover production with minimal manual intervention.
