HDP will make its first public exhibition appearance at The 10th All in Print China, taking place from October 12 to 16, 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

At its 266-square-meter booth, HDP will present four integrated digital finishing lines covering dynamic folding, book block preparation, thread sewing, saddle stitching and automated hardcover production. The exhibition will also mark the global debut of three major HDP developments:

This will be the first time HDP appears publicly as the dedicated digital finishing brand of HXCP Machinery, bringing together HXCP's established manufacturing capabilities and HDP’s specialized research and development in modular, data-driven and highly automated digital book production.
A Major Presentation of Roll-to-Finished-Book Automation
Digital printing has transformed the economics of publishing and commercial print. However, many production environments still rely on disconnected post-press processes, manual transfers and equipment designed primarily for long, repetitive production runs.
HDP is developing a different production model.
Its systems are engineered to convert digitally printed rolls directly into signatures, sewn book blocks, saddle-stitched products or finished hardcover books. Barcode recognition, servo-controlled adjustment, variable folding and automated job changeovers allow the production lines to process frequent changes in page count, thickness and format with substantially less operator intervention.
At All in Print China 2026, visitors will be able to examine how these technologies work together across four complete production workflows.
HDP700 Roll-to-Dynamic-Folding-to-Sewing Digital Line
Global Premiere
The HDP700 Roll-to-Dynamic-Folding-to-Sewing Digital Line is designed for automated production of thread-sewn book blocks in short-run, variable and Book-of-One environments.
Beginning with a continuously printed paper roll, the line combines controlled unwinding, longitudinal plow folding, barcode-driven cutting and dynamic cross-folding. Different folding paths can be selected automatically according to production data, allowing the system to process changing page structures and tail signatures without conventional manual intervention.
Folded sections are transferred through a telescopic conveyor to the HDP200 Digital Collating Feeder, where they are accurately sequenced and gathered before entering the HDP SEW Digital Book Sewing Machine.
By producing folded signatures before the gathering process, the line reduces the number of individual sheets that must be handled by the collator. This substantially increases gathering efficiency and helps maintain continuous operation of the sewing unit.
The result is a stable stream of thread-sewn book blocks with variable page counts and thicknesses, ready for downstream perfect binding or hardcover production.

HDP700 Roll-to-Collator-to-Saddle-Stitching Digital Line

Also making its global debut will be the HDP700 Roll-to-Collator-to-Saddle-Stitching Digital Line, a single-pass system developed to convert printed rolls directly into finished saddle-stitched products.
The workflow begins with continuous roll feeding and precision cross-cutting. The resulting flat sheets are delivered in the correct sequence to the HDP200 Digital Collating Feeder, where they are accumulated into complete book blocks.
A cover inserting unit feeds and aligns the corresponding cover before each book enters the HDP SS4500 Digital Saddle Stitching Unit. After stitching, an integrated three-knife trimming process cuts the three open sides to produce a finished product ready for packing or dispatch.

The HDP1100 Roll-to-Dynamic-Folding-to-Hardcover-Binding Digital Line represents HDP's most comprehensive demonstration of automated book production at the exhibition.
Designed for direct connection with a web-fed digital press, the line transforms a continuous printed roll into finished hardcover books through one coordinated production workflow.
After unwinding, longitudinal folding and barcode-controlled cutting, the web is converted into variable-format signatures by the HDP DFU660 Dynamic Folder. The sections are then gathered by the HDP200 Digital Collating Feeder and sewn by the HDP SEW Digital Sewing Machine.
The sewn book blocks continue through a sequence of automated hardcover processes:
Dynamic folding → Collating → Thread sewing → End-sheet feeding → Spine gluing → Gauzing and back lining → Cooling → Three-knife trimming → Rounding and backing → Spine lining → Head and tail banding → Casing-in → Joint pressing → Stacking → Robotic palletizing
At the center of this workflow is the HDP PB7 Pro Digital Binder, which performs end-sheet feeding, hotmelt spine gluing, gauzing and back stripping. Servo-controlled adjustment supports rapid job changeovers for variable production.
The book blocks then enter the HDP TKT Digital Three-Knife Trimmer, where barcode recognition enables automatic format changes. An anti-tearing mechanism supports clean and accurate trimming across different book structures and thicknesses.
The line is completed by the new HDP380 Digital Cover Casing-In Machine, followed by automatic interleaving, stacking and robotic palletizing.
Together, these systems demonstrate a practical route toward Book-of-One hardcover manufacturing with less manual adjustment between consecutive jobs.

The HDP380 Digital Cover Casing-In Machine will make its global premiere as one of the most important individual equipment introductions at the HDP booth.

HDP1100 Wide-Format Roll-to-Book-Block Digital Line
The HDP1100 Wide-Format Roll-to-Book-Block Digital Line is a heavy-duty production system developed specifically for wide-format web-fed digital printing.
Supporting a maximum web width of up to 1,100 mm and operating at speeds of up to 200 meters per minute, the system integrates:
Unwinding → Dual plow folding → Cutting → Side gluing → Signature separation → Stacking
The dual plow-folding configuration can produce 4-, 6- or 8-page structures, allowing wide printed webs to be converted efficiently into accurately folded book sections.
At the delivery end, the HDP DSD Dual Star Wheel Delivery provides controlled separation and stable stacking of consecutive signatures. This is particularly important when book thicknesses or production data change continuously from one product to the next.
Optional functions such as dynamic perforation and edge trimming can be configured according to the required application. The system is intended for high-volume digital publishing, educational printing and industrial book production environments that require both wide-format capacity and flexible job handling.
The First Public Appearance of HDP
