HDP Roll to Dynamic Folding Digital Line

Equipment Introduction

The HDP1100 Roll to Dynamic Folding Digital Line is a compact, fully automated inline solution that converts a continuous printed paper roll into collated, bundled signatures compatible with a wide range of downstream binding processes. The HDP UW1100 Unwinder feeds the web into the HDP SPF1100 Single Plowfolder for longitudinal creasing and pre-perforation, followed by the HDP CD520 Dynamic Cutter, which reads barcode data to execute variable-length cross-cuts and automatically ejects setup waste. The HDP DFU660 Dynamic Folder, supported by the HXC2 Independent Folding Knife, switches folding paths on the fly via VDP barcode recognition, achieving seamless 4- or 8-page dynamic jumps (e.g., 8P to 12P or 16P to 24P) with zero downtime — limiting blank pages to no more than 3 per book and handling tail signatures automatically. The sequentially ordered signatures are then vertically stacked and strapped by the HX500 Vertical Stacker and Bundling Delivery for immediate downstream transfer. The bundled output is compatible with digital finishing lines — including the HDP200 Digital Collating Feeder, HDP SEW Digital Thread Sewing Machine, HDP SS4500 Digital Saddle Stitcher, and digital perfect binders — as well as conventional equipment such as thread sewing machines, wiro-o binders, traditional perfect binders, and saddle stitchers. By transforming variable digital print content into properly folded multi-page signatures, the line bridges digital and traditional post-press production, serving as the first and most versatile entry point in any digital book manufacturing workflow.
